ADVERT MEDIA LIMITED TERMS OF USE

These Terms of Use explain how you may use our app and services.
By accessing or using Skool Loop, you agree to these terms.

1. DEFINITIONS AND INTERPRETATION

In these terms of use:

Personal Information has the meaning given to it in the Privacy Act 2020 and refers to information about an identifiable individual.

Privacy Act 2020 means the Privacy Act 2020 of New Zealand including any amendments or regulations made under it from time to time.

Schools means any education provider or other entity that has subscribed and uses the Skool Loop Platform, Skool Books platform or the School Apps platform.

Skool Loop means Advert Media Limited or its assigns

Skool Loop Platform means the digital services and tools, including but not limited to the Skool Loop mobile application (iOS and Android), the website, the school console, Skool Loop and any associated features, content and communication tools made available through or in connection with these services.

Skool Books means Advert Media Limited or its assigns

Skool Books Platform means the digital services and tools, including but not limited to the Skool Books mobile application (iOS and Android), the website, the school console, Skool Books and any associated features, content and communication tools made available through or in connection with these services.

School Apps means Snapp Mobile Limited or its assigns

School Apps Platform means the digital services and tools, including but not limited to the School Apps mobile application (iOS and Android), the website, the school console, School Apps and any associated features, content and communication tools made available through or in connection with these services.

Subprocessor(s) means any third-party service provider engaged by us to process personal information on our behalf in connection with the provision of our services, including but not limited to data hosting, communications and analytics.

Website means the website at the domain www.skoolloop.com, www.skoolbooks.org, www.schoolappsnz.co.nz or any website built by us.

2. INTRODUCTION

This document sets out the terms & conditions of ADVERT MEDIA LIMITED NZBN 9429032985733 and, or SNAPP MOBILE LIMITED NZBN 9429030383180 trading as SKOOL LOOP, SKOOL BOOKS and SCHOOL APPS (referred to in these terms and conditions as ‘we’, ‘us’, or ‘our’).

These terms and conditions apply to the following user groups:

a) Parents who use the Skool Loop, Skool Books or School Apps platform to interact with their child’s school;

b) Schools using Skool Loop, Skool Books or School Apps for administrative purposes and communication with parents and the wider school community; and;

c) Advertisers who may use Skool Loop, Skool Books or School Apps to deliver advertisements and related services.

We provide the platform as a technical service provider only.
We do not own or control the content schools upload.

Each school is the data controller and custodian of the information it enters into the platform and is responsible for how it uses the platform and how it collects and uses personal information.

3. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

If you are a parent, caregiver, student, teacher, or other school community member using the Skool Loop, Skool Books or School Apps platform:

• You must use the platform only for its intended purpose — to receive and respond to school communications.
• You must not misuse the platform (e.g. by attempting to interfere with its operation or upload harmful or inappropriate content).
• You must not share your login (if you have one) or attempt to access areas of the platform you’re not authorised to use.
• If you upload or send content, it must be accurate, appropriate, and not infringe on anyone’s rights.

You are responsible for ensuring any content or personal information you share complies with your school’s privacy and data protection policies.

If you are unsure how your school is using Skool Loop, Skool Books or School Apps or managing your personal information, please contact your school directly.

4. DATA AND PRIVACY

The school you are connected to controls the data you see or submit in the Skool Loop, Skool Books or School Apps. They decide what is collected, when, and how it is used.

Advert Media acts only as a data processor on the school’s instructions and solely for the purpose of providing the Skool Loop, Skool Books or School Apps service.

We do not use personal information for advertising or sell data to third parties.

We do not access or use personal data except where necessary to operate, maintain or support the platform on the school’s behalf.

5. SCHOOL ONBOARDING

During the onboarding process, Skool Loop, Skool Books or School Apps acts solely as a subprocessor on behalf of the school.

The school is the data controller and determines what information is provided.

We process the information submitted through the booking form (such as contact details and branding) only for the purpose of setting up and configuring the school’s account.

6. SECURITY

We take the protection and security seriously:

• Data is hosted securely on New Zealand Servers
• We use HTTPS to encrypt data transmission.
• Passwords are encrypted and only visible to you.
• Access to data is restricted and monitored in accordance with our security protocols

7. OUR ROLE

We are a technical service provider. We:

• Host and maintain the Skool Loop app and related systems.
• Provide support and updates for the platform.
• Protect the system’s security and ensure it works reliably.

We do not:

• Control the messages or content uploaded by schools.
• Decide who gets access to what information.
• Collect personal data beyond what is needed to provide the service.

We may use subprocessors (such as cloud service providers) to help deliver the platform. These subprocessors are listed in our Privacy Policy.

8. SUPPORT AND LIMITATIONS

We aim to provide a reliable and user-friendly platform, but:

We do not guarantee uninterrupted access and may need to suspend the service for maintenance or upgrades.

Support is available via your school or by contacting our helpdesk.

9. LIABILITY

To the maximum extent allowed by law:

• We are not liable for any indirect or consequential losses.
• You are responsible for using the platform in a secure and lawful manner.
• Schools are responsible for any personal information they upload or distribute through the platform.

Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you may have under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.

10. ENDING USE AS PARENTS

Parents can stop using Skool Loop, Skool Books or School Apps at any time by deleting the app or disabling notifications.
To remove information, parents must contact the school.

We may suspend or terminate your access if you misuse the platform or breach these terms.

Your school can also deactivate your access if your relationship with the school ends or if you breach any of the terms of use of the Skool Loop Platform.

11. CANCELLATION AND TERMINATION FOR ADVERTISERS

Skool Loop, Skool Books or School Apps is provided free to schools for 12 months, funded by local advertising.

At the end of your twelve (12)-month term, you may choose not to renew.

Skool Loop, Skool Books or School Apps will contact your school before the subscription renews to confirm if you wish to continue.
If you choose not to renew, you must let us know in writing on ninety (90) days notice.

Early cancellation is not permitted, except in certain circumstances whereby there has been a serious breach of these terms that has not been remedied by either party within ten (10) working days of written notice of the breach and the remedy required to rectify the breach.

After the subscription ends Skool Loop will remove all school data.

12. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

All intellectual property in the Skool Loop, Skool Books or School Apps platform (excluding school content) belongs to Advert Media Limited.
You may not copy, distribute or modify the platform without permission.

13. ADVERTISER PARTICIPATION

Local businesses may be invited to advertise within the Skool Loop, Skool Books or School Apps app to support their local school community.
Advertising helps provide the app at no cost to the schools.

If you choose to advertise:

• You can choose a regular or exclusive placement for a fixed fee.
• We can help design your advert using content you provide or that’s publicly available (like from your website).
• You’ll be sent a proof to approve before your ad goes live, but the design ownership sits with the business.

All ads must be suitable for a school audience.
We do not allow any content that is offensive, discriminatory, misleading, or inappropriate for children or families.
This includes hate speech, racism, or harmful material of any kind.

We reserve the right to reject or remove ads that don’t meet our standards.

Individual school users may also control who advertises on their platform depending on their individual school community needs.

While we check advertising content before publishing, we are not responsible for the actions or views of advertisers outside of the app (e.g. on their website or social media).

Advertising is optional and by invitation only.

14. LICENCE TO USE SKOOL LOOP

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Skool Loop app for personal, non-commercial use in accordance with these Terms.
You must not copy, modify, distribute, decompile, or reverse engineer any part of the platform.
All rights not expressly granted are reserved by Advert Media Limited and, or by Snapp Mobile Limited.

15. GENERAL

These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand

If any part of these Terms is found to be invalid, the rest still applies.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We’ll let you or your school know if that happens.

16. THIRD PARTY SERVICES

Our services may include links or integrations with third-party websites or providers.
We are not responsible for the content, policies, or services of any third parties.

Please refer to our Privacy Policy for information about third-party providers we use in delivering the platform.
